Music : Theatre & Performance 2011 : Dublin String Quartet
Dublin String Quartet are made up of four young Irish musicians who are based in Dublin. Individually they are all successful freelance classical instrumentalists and have played and worked with artists such as Sinéad O'Connor, Luciano Pavarotti, the Priests, Billy Ocean, Wet Wet Wet amongst others!
Last year they undertook the postgraduate masters programme in DIT where they studied with the RTE Vanbrugh string quartet and were invited to take part in the West Cork Chamber Music Festival last summer.
Dublin String Quartet will bring us a selection of string quartet music, going back as far as the early classical period right up to contemporary music with possibly a tango or two! “We want you to sit back,relax,(or dance if the mood takes you!) and most of all enjoy our music in this beautiful Rose Garden.”
