Daithí's debut year was a successful one, with an exceptional Electric Picnic set on the Body&Soul main stage, a performance in Wembley arena to a 10,000 strong crowd, and support slots to the XX and Dj Shadow.
Daithí uses loopstations, kaoss Pads, synthesizers, effects pedals and drum machines to create a unique and exceptional sound all centered around one instrument: the Fiddle. Some people call it post trad, others say it's Indie traditional electro math rock looped with a twist, whatever the genre the end result is energetic, loud and a damn good time.
This year Daithí has been featured in the acclaimed show Other Voices in the Other Room and is touring the country on the back of his debut E.P, The Embrace E.P, which was recorded in the Forge Studio Galway, produced and engineered by David Phelan of The Lost Chord.
True to Daithí's live style, the E.P was recorded using a looped method; each sound is a separate loop, mixed together to create a precise and melodic piece of music. The end result is energetic, catchy instrumentals, with electronic, indie and traditional irish influences rolled into each tune.
