Hailing from the beautiful mountains of West Cork, Christy Collard has been making structures from wood since a young teenager - his family set up FUTURE FORESTS 30 years ago which is a hugely popular and successful tree nursery business - promoting sustainable forestry.
His work has been popping up all over the World, the highlights being his park designed and built in Lalibela Ethiopia, a gold-winning garden at The Chelsea flower show and the many structures he has brought to Body&Soul, these include stages, a tree house ,a peace pagoda, a heart garden, and some beautiful seating areas.
Utilising sustainably-sourced thinnings from the forest, Christy has been pushing the possibilities of round-pole construction and has been constantly challenging his work with new ideas.
"What inspires me most is seeing people who devote their lives to creating and being part of the world that we dream is possible, where we live in harmony with the planet and in peace with each other. And have one big party along the way!"
