Music : Theatre & Performance 2011 : Choke Comedy

Choke Comedy the only improv troupe to have played every county in Ireland return for their 2nd visit to The Body & Soul Festival.

It has been a very busy year for Choke Comedy - holding a monthly residency at The Loft, the new home of Bottom Dog Theatre Company; touring extensively with highlights that included performances at the Electric Picnic, the Special Olympics, Limerick Live Festival and of course last year’s Body & Soul Solstice Gathering; the launch of their new show “Never Mind the Improv” at this year’s UnFringed Festival; all leading up to their latest successful adventure which saw them performing in all 32 counties in Ireland in just over 3 days all in support of Headstrong – the National Centre for Youth Mental Health.

Performing since 2008, Choke Comedy deliver a high energy hilarious improv show where nothing is rehearsed, everything is created in the spur of the moment and where audience suggestions are relied upon to help create the numerous locations and characters that feature. A Choke Comedy performance is guaranteed to be different every time and fantastic entertainment for absolutely everyone.

Choke Comedy are John Loftus, Tracy Aspel, Ann Blake, Charlie Cassey, Susan Holland, Myles Breen, Norma Lowney and Jerry O'Mullane.
