Gerard Minakawa and his Bamboo DNA crew will be designing and building a bamboolicious new stage concept for the Body&Soul Festival, featuring bamboo poles imported from South America, local materials such as willow, and lots of colorful fabrics.
Minakawa's innovative bamboo designs have been acclaimed both in the U.S. and abroad, both for their unique structural properties as well as the aesthetic rigor he instills into each project.
Bamboo is the world's tallest and most gigantic grass, used for everything from dishware to water purification and retention to commercial construction. It is especially effective at devouring CO2, a problematic greenhouse gas, and pumping out lots of much-needed oxygen back into our atmosphere.
Have we mentioned how beautiful it looks? Of course!
